Our sponsor Camille SERME wins the Squash Champions Tournament

January 20, 2020

For more than 3 years now, ITS Group has been supporting Camille SERME in all her sporting challenges. At 30 years old, Camille, nicknamed "the Panther", holds the greatest prize list of all time for a French player! Nine times French champion and six times individual European champion, she won again during the Tournament of Champions (ToC) which took place in New-York from 9 to 17 January at Manhattan's emblematic train station: the Grand Central Terminal.

After nine straight defeats to world No. 1 Raneem El Welily, Camille achieved a feat by winning the quarter-final of this Tournament of Champions in 5 sets. She then faced Nouran Gohar for the semi-finals, another formidable opponent that she has never beaten before, nicknamed "Terminator" because of her exceptional physical condition, and came out victorious in 5 sets as well.

After 2 very intensive matches, Camille gave her all for the final which announced a very high level game against the world No. 2, Nour El Sherbini. After fighting hard, Camille then won, Friday January 17, 2020 in New York, the Tournament of Champions with a superb performance in 3 sets.

For more information, find the grid of the matches and the ranking of Camille SERME on the PSA World tour website.

The Frenchwoman pulled off a rare feat in New York by winning the Champions Tournament after defeating the world's top three players, all three of whom were Egyptian. She won this tournament in 2017, having already beaten El Sherbini in the final, and is now the fourth highest "Platinum" level tournament on the circuit, after the British Open in 2015, the US Open in 2016 and thus the 2017 edition in New York.

Camille being a very committed sportswoman, we will continue to follow her from this Thursday at the Carol Weymuller Open tournament in Brooklyn.
