This is it!

June 01, 2023

ITS Group would like to salute and thank Philippe MARTIN, Director of the Energy BU, for his remarkable professional career and 25 years with the Group.
At the age of 64, Philippe is embarking on a new personal adventure: heading for Brittany and a well-deserved retirement!
Philippe, can you retrace your career path for us?
Of course, it's time to take stock! After obtaining my BTS in electrical engineering in 1980, I started my career with the Michelin group in Clermont Ferrand as a software developer in process control. After 4 years with Michelin, I went on to work in industrial IT for Spie Batignolle, then Sodeteg TAI. I joined Thales Défense in 1992 to help develop embedded software systems for the military.

In 1995, I decided to change direction. After 6 months' training in the insurance business, I set up in Guingamp as a general insurance agent for AXA. This commercial experience lasted two years, before I returned to the IT world in 1997 in a small ESN, BWO, where I took charge of the EDF account. BWO was bought out by SEEVIA in the 2000s, then acquired by ITS Group in 2003. And so began my adventure with ITS.

What do you like about ITS?
The approach to customers and employees is in line with my professional and personal convictions. I appreciate the autonomy, the responsibilities and the business challenges, without ever forgetting the human aspect, which is at the heart of the project. The Energy BU provides our customers with IT services, most of which are project management oriented. Our two objectives are to provide the best technical and economic response, and to offer our consultants, who are the wealth of ITS Group, progressive assignments.
What values have been important in your career?
I'm a structured person who likes to think ahead. I'm not satisfied with the here and now, I always have to think in the medium to long term when it comes to business issues. I'm attached to individual and collective values. So, when it comes to doing my job, the qualities that seem essential to me are rigor, discipline and consistency in achieving objectives. In management, the qualities I hold dear are honesty, integrity and fairness.
What's your greatest achievement?
I don't have just one, I have several.
The first is the satisfaction of my customers and colleagues, who have trusted me to support them. Secondly, I'm very proud of my team and the work we've done. As a manager, I hope I've made them aware of their role and the meaning of their work. Finally, from a business point of view, I'm leaving with the satisfaction of having created and developed the Energy BU with major markets.
When it comes to business and the energy sector, EDF comes to mind. Can you tell us more about your relationship with this customer?
The EDF customer account has followed me from 1997 to the present day, and is the common thread running through my career. I've followed their digital transformation, the emergence of new technologies and new needs. It's a major player in the transformation of France's energy sector of tomorrow. Working with them has been both challenging and exciting. ITS Group has become a strategic IT supplier for EDF. It was one of my personal challenges.
Who will ensure the continuity of your business?
I'm leaving with peace of mind. Karine BENLOLO, currently KeyAccount Manager within our BU, is taking over my role. Having worked alongside me for 3 years, she has all the necessary qualities: a sense of business, customer relations and a taste for challenge. It's an internal promotion that aligns well with ITS's AMBITION value.
Who have marked your ITS adventure?
The first person is our CEO Jean-Michel BENARD. I'd like to thank him for his confidence in me over the years. I have a deep respect for entrepreneurs and have always appreciated his human and business vision.

And of course my boss Denis GUIBE, remarkable for his human qualities.

My structural team, for the pleasure of working with them. I've been lucky enough to work with dynamic, committed people: the results prove it! It wouldn't have been possible without the excellent work of the back office, for which I'd like to thank them.

Of course, I'm thinking of all the consultants who have worked within the BU and who have placed their trust in us. It's a human responsibility as a manager. Their professional and personal development is at stake, and that means a lot to me.

Finally, I'd like to thank our customers for the trust they've placed in us over the past 25 years. We're growing together in this world of IT and Energy. The best is yet to come.

Finally, what is your professional leitmotiv?
"The best performances are the ones that last."
We wish you all the best, Philippe, for the rest of your adventures!
