Account Operations Manager
We are pleased to introduce you to Samir, who is currently Account Manager at ITS Integra. Previously working in the petroleum sector, Samir chose to change careers. In this interview, he tells us about his experience and his first missions within the group.
Why did you choose to retrain?
I had to leave my former company for personal reasons. After 6 months of reflection, I had decided to end my career in the field of petroleum geology. I started to actively look for jobs (in the scientific field). The sector for which I was most often solicited was IT. So I started interview campaigns until I was selected by ITS Group. After having completed a Linux training course (linux class 2007), I landed my first mission as a technician in a company (software publisher) specialising in EDI and logistics.
How did your first assignments with the ITS Group go?
In March 2009, I was appointed leader of the operations team, comprising 12 technicians. Then in 2010, I was appointed Managed Services Manager for a larger area. I was therefore in charge of leading a team of around 30 people in 3 support teams. My main functions were :
- To be the client's main contact
- Management of N1 & N2 support teams
- Recruitment of technical teams and implementation of training plans
- Setting up dashboards to manage the service
- Animation of the various steering bodies of the service
- Proposal of improvement plans.
In April 2016, I joined the ITS Integra teams as an operational account manager.
Have you taken any other courses since then?
In parallel to my missions, I was able to follow other training courses such as :
- Project Management
- Six ITIL training courses
- English language training for a few months
More recently, I had the opportunity to attend an Azure training course. One of my clients had migrated to Azure and I wanted to understand the concept. It was a first training and it was very comprehensive. I am now planning to do a certified Azure training.
