[Expert Stories] Bruno, SysOps & DevOps Tech Lead

24 March 2022

Exploiting our experiences of yesterday to be successful today and prepare for tomorrow with confidence": Bruno tells us about his journey, a model of its kind!

Bruno, you have been diving and freediving for many years and you like to pass on your knowledge to your club members. Does this help you in your job?

I am passionate about diving but also about computers since I can remember. It is in my nature to discover new things, to test them and to pass them on. For me, IT is an exciting field where I can grow.

Can you tell us about your background?

After completing my studies in business computing, I began my career by working in a variety of jobs, each of which taught me a particular aspect of computing, such as development, operation, administration or support. All these activities are well known but, put in perspective with the evolution of technologies and methodologies, they are constantly renewed.

Throughout my career, my missions, whatever their nature, have always involved innovation: new technological solutions, new architectures, new practices that I have nurtured.

What are your most important achievements?

I am currently working for a leading rail transport company as part of an agile team to implement standardisation and automation of infrastructure and configuration management for on premise and on cloud environments. Today, the cost, quality and time constraints in IT projects are increasingly strong, making it essential to have an agile, robust, flexible and resilient infrastructure. You need to be able to quickly and safely create environments, configure the underlying machines, test, store and finally scale to meet the load. My role involves dealing with architectural issues, which increases my level of interaction with the various business lines.

My previous mission was to automate the application integration pipeline. In the context of complex projects, I was able to develop skills in continuous integration and deployment on premise and in the cloud, on IaaS and Paas scopes and via Ansible and Docker in particular. Automating the management of software development chains is essential to remain competitive. Agile methods and the DevOps practices on which they are based are essential. By changing the way we work, they considerably accelerate the delivery phases.

My experience in SysOps and DevOps approaches gives me the ability to understand the transformation challenges of my client. My career path has thus been enriched and I have been able to evolve at the heart of changes and innovations throughout my career to deliver the expected value.

What does ITS Services bring to you in the context of your professional development?

I had the opportunity to work with local managers who gave me challenging assignments within large groups and allowed me to fuel my passion for IT.

Thank you for this enriching feedback. We are proud of our teams and of Bruno's career as a SysOps & DevOps Tech Lead. We know that he is armed and capable of tackling the next evolutions such as IAOPS and SRE. In this sense, Bruno is representative of ITS Services whose leitmotiv is Operational Excellence.
